Skinny Easy Beef Chili

This is an easy chili recipe to make. The best for those looking for a healthy, easy dinner recipe.
Great as a whole meal or as a snack.




Ingredients: (6 servings)

1 lb (500g) extra-lean ground beef
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup each celery and onions, diced
1 tsp each ground cumin, dried oregano and ground coriander* (*optional)
1 tabs chilli powder
¼ tsp black pepper
1 can (640ml)no-salt added tomato sauce
1 cup water or reduced sodium beef broth
1 tabs of your favourite barbecue sauce
1 can (540ml) no salt added red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (540ml)no salt added white beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (398ml)beans in tomato sauce

Directions:
In a large heavy pan, cook beef and garlic over medium high heat until done.

Add celery and onions. Stir and cook until vegetables are tender.

Stir in spices (chili powder, cumin, oregano, coriander, black pepper) and cook for 1 minute.

Add tomato sauce, water and barbecue sauce. Bring mixture to a boil, and then reduce to low heat.

Add beans, cover and simmer for about 30-40 minutes or until the sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
